What Ankara will do

Ankara will absolutely continue to exert efforts to ensure the resolution is not immediately brought to the General Assembly.

The United States will be under increased pressure now that Ambassador Namık Tan was called back to Ankara.

The decision process on cooperation, especially regarding Afghanistan, will now be put on hold. Expectations are that collaborative efforts between the Western world and Iran will also be weighed down. The effect of this process on relations with the Middle East, the Arab World and the West will all be assessed. The initial steps to be taken, however not anticipated to be immediately, are as follows:

*Tan will remain in Ankara until a positive sign is received by the administration.

*Prime Minister Erdoğan will not confirm his attendance at the Nuclear Security Summit planned for mid-April until the last minute.

*The ongoing deliberations between Iran and the Western world will be slowed down.
