Accompanied by a committee of 180, Gül heads for New Delhi
President Abdullah Gül has departed for India accompanied by a committee of 180 consisting of both businessmen and filmmakers.
Speaking at a press conference held at Atatürk Airport prior to his departure, Gül stated; “Over the medium-term, a 600 billion dollar investment will be made into India’s infrastructure. Significant Turkish businessmen will be able to conduct mutual business with India.”
Upon arrival, President Gül and First Lady Hayrünissa Gül were greeted in the capital New Delhi by high-level authorities in India’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Gül first held a meeting with the businessmen accompanying him at the Oberoi Hotel, where he will be staying during his trip. Gül will later meet with Indian President Pratibha Devisingh Patil and other high level officials, before heading to Bangladesh on February 12th.
