Betrayal of democracy
Arinc, speaking at the Abant Platform stated; “It is embarrassing that at at ime where we are coming upon the year 2010, Turkey is still discussing the surfacing of signed documents.”
State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc spoke out against all of the debate that has surfaced since the finding of signed documents detailing plans against the government during the Abant Platform, emphasizing that going into the year 2010, it was embarrassing. “Going against the people’s will and choice as well as the constitution is nothing more than a betrayal of democracy.” Arinc, speaking at the opening of the second meeting of the Abant Platform this year, held under the title, “Democratization: Political Parties from September 12th to the EU,” stated; “To be chosen and brought into power, as well as to make up a majority in the parliament is not enough on its own for the democratization of Turkey. If we wanted to make a new constitution, we would be faced with another coup. There is something to be said about this incident which has now taken over Turkey’s agenda, and that is that on the one hand an investigation is being conducted, and on the other hand life continues as normal.”
