Two earthquakes within sixteen minutes in Simav

In the Simav district of Kütahya, two earthquakes of 4.4 and 4.2 magnitude took place within sixteen minutes.

According to the Bosphorus University Kandilli Meteorology and Earthquake Research Institute, at 2:43 am an earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale was followed by another earthquake 16 minutes later at 02:59 am which measured 4.2 magnitudes. The two earthquakes had epicenters based in Simav, one 7.5 kilometers underground and the other 7.7 kilometers deep. 

There was no damage to property nor injuries reported due to the earthquakes, however local residents were shaken up as some left their homes and chose to wait it out on the street or in their cars. 

Meanwhile, after the two earthquakes measuring 4.4 and 4.2 magnitudes rattled the Simav district, an earthquake of 3.3 magnitude took place in the Pazarlar district, while another, at 3:37 am, measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale, was felt in Şaphane.
