Ten million lira cyber fraud
A criminal organization, responsible for copying 15,000 credit cards and stealing ten million liras, has been apprehended. Out of 48 individuals detained, 34 have been arrested.
Ankara’s IT Police Department has conducted one of their biggest stings ever, by bringing down an organization responsible for copying 15,000 credit cards belonging to foreigners and stealing ten million liras from locations spanning from America to Japan. In operations staged in seven different districts, 48 people were detained, one of which was under the age of 18. Thirty-four arrests were made.
Meanwhile, Interpol has taken action in order to apprehend the hackers providing the network support. Meanwhile in Thailand, three Turks have been apprehended for emptying out 600,000 dollars from bank accounts belonging to European nationals by using fake credit cards.
Fenerbahce goalkeeper Volkan Demirel is also claimed to have recently been a victim of credit card fraud.
