Thirteen-thousand police are on alert
US President Barack Obama landed in Ankara last night. Four-thousand police are on such high alert, even a bird will not be able to fly. Intense security measures have been put into place, including teams searching for bombs inside manhole covers… Meanwhile, Istanbul is also on alert prior to the arrival of the US president… Eight-thousand police will be on duty and four separate rings of security will be established. Even oil will not be allowed to be purchased by the barrel...
With the arrival of US President Barack Obama to the nation’s capital yesterday, security measures in Ankara were increased to the highest level. Four-thousand police are on duty in the capital city. Obama is using one of two identical limousines in his convoy.* The Obama administration requested the placement of US intelligence snipers in the Sheraton Hotel, however the Turkish police did not grant permission. Special Forces have been put into place in both the hotel Obama will stay as well as every location on his route. US secret service was granted permission to provide supervision with binoculars on the roof of the hotel alongside Turkish police.
FOUR-THOUSAND POLICE LOCATED AT 100 METER POINTS
* US secret service members were only allowed to carry guns.
* Four-thousand police have been situated in 100 meter distances on Obama’s probable routes. Bomb experts have even checked all of the manhole covers for bombs on Obama’s route and have marked them as safe. In order to prevent a possible bomb being placed, the convoy has been equipped with frequency mixing jammers. As Obama’s convoy passed, both cellular and telephone communication was shot off temporarily.
HOTEL ROOM SEARCHED FOR TAPPING DEVICES
* US secret service members conducted intensive searches for possible bugging devices in the suite Obama is staying in prior to his arrival.
* Traffic was shut down in both directions while Obama’s convoy headed from the airport to the hotel where he is staying. The limousine transporting the US president followed the rules of traffic and went at a speed of 70 km, arriving at the hotel in 47 minutes.
* Minister of State in charge of the Treasury Mehmet Şimşek has been designated as the person to accompany President Obama during his meetings. Şimşek was chosen for this position because of his ability to speak English with an American accent due to years of his experience living in the US.
All preparations have been made for US President Obama’s trip to Istanbul tomorrow in order to participate in the Alliance of Civilizations, including the following procedures:
* Due to the upcoming visit, 8,800 police will be on continuous duty for two days. The security wall around Obama will be established in rings.
* The first ring will be made up of Obama’s personal security. The second ring will consist of close protection provided by the Turkish Police Headquarters. They will then be surrounded by members of the CIA. The fourth security ring will be made up of riot police and Special Forces teams.
NO CELL PHONE ACCESS
* Snipers will be placed on all higher crossing points and on the roofs of numerous buildings. Snipers will be placed every 300 meters.
* Cellular phones will not be functioning in areas where Obama is anticipated to pass through due to the operation of ‘jammers’ used in the convoys. Throughout Obama’s route, gas stations will be prohibited from selling gas by the barrel.
* All hospitals on Obama’s route have been put on alert. Emergency service doctors are on call in case Obama experiences any sort of health problems.
* Traffic will be shut off completely during Obama and the other seven state leaders and ministers routes of travel. Metro bus, buses and public lines of transport will all continue to function nonstop.
