The Erzincan file is in Istanbul

Just before his authority was lifted by the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors for overstepping his position in warranting the arrest of Prosecutor Cihaner, Erzurum Prosecutor Şanal sent his files to the Ergenekon prosecutors in Istanbul.

As the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors was in the process of taking out a warrant to revoke Prosecutor Osman Şanal’s authority, for overstepping his authority in arresting Erzincan Chief Prosecutor Ilhan Cihaner, Şanal handed over a 13-part file to private couriers. The couriers then delivered the file, contained in a case, to Istanbul. 

The files sent by Şanal were delivered to prosecutors in Istanbul conducting the Ergenekon investigation. Amongst the files were documents pertaining to an investigation into the 3rd Military Commander Full General Saldiray Berk
