Shocking decision in the Isparta crash

Air Transportation General Manager Arıduru is facing 15-years’ imprisonment in connection to a plane crash which resulted in 57 deaths.

The fourth hearing for the criminal case opened regarding the November 30th, 2007 accident took place yesterday at the Isparta High Criminal Court. The court has ruled for opening a criminal case against Air Transportation General Manager Arıduru and his assistant Oktay Erdağ for ‘causing the deaths of more than one person due to negligence’ due to findings in a report by Istanbul Technical University.  

PLANE TOOK OFF WITH MALFUNCTIONING EQUIPMENT 

It has been revealed that the aircraft was flown with defective equipment from Africa. The attorney defending the victims in the crash, has stated; “Those who permitted the aircraft to take off need to be held accountable.” Arıduru, who currently has 160 cases opened against him, responded by stating; “If you allow the plane to fly you are blamed and if you don’t, you are blamed.
