Ankara has established a political, strategic, military and economic response to the recent passing of the ‘so-called genocide’ resolution.

A widespread plan directed at the Obama administration is being established by Ankara in an effort to prevent the Armenian Resolution from being brought to the agenda of the U.S. House of Representatives Assembly.

1) Political

State Minister Cağlayan may postpone his U.S. trip scheduled for March 19th for a second time. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Erdoğan will announce his final decision on Monday as to whether he will be participating in the Nuclear Security Summit on April 11th-14th.

2) Economic

The calendar of scheduled meetings between mutual ministers in an effort to establish the infrastructure for model collaboration will now be reevaluated. New alternatives will be determined for goods prominently imported by the US.

3) Military

Strategy involving military cooperation between the two nations as well as on other important projects will be brought up at the last stage according to how the process with the Congress develops. On the table are issues such as the use of air space, as well as the restriction of activities on bases.

4) Strategic

With energy at the forefront, the process of establishing closer relations with Russia will continue. Accordingly, yesterday the Foreign Affairs Undersecretary and assistant departed for Russia yesterday. Moscow will also be requested to increase their influence over Yerevan.

SWITZERLAND IS NEXT IN LINE

Meanwhile, on March 11th a ‘lobbying war’ on the Armenian bill is set to take place in the Swiss parliament. Switzerland’s majority party, the Social Democratic Party supports the resolution.
