Weekend musical entertainment in Sultanahmet Square

The Fatih Municipality will now be bringing live music every weekend to visitors of the Sultanahmet Square.

The Mehter Team, which plays Ottoman military music, will continue to play on Saturdays while now on Sundays the Ahırkapı Roman Orchestra, which plays music of a combination of ethnicities that reside in the Ahırkapı district, will also be staging concerts in Sultanahmet. 

While the Mehter Team draws the attention of tourists with their impressive costumes and military music, the Ahırkapı Roman Orchestra will be exciting audiences with their energetic rhythms. Fatih Municipal Mayor Mustafa Demir announced that due to the fact that both national and international tourists enjoy the concerts, they plan to continue to hold a variety of concerts throughout the year.
