Fatih Akın receives honorable knight award

France’s Ministry of Culture has awarded director Fatih Akın with the Order of the Knight of Arts and Literature, (Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres).

While in Berlin for the International Film Festival, France’s Minister of Culture Frederic Mitterrand awarded German-born Turkish director Fatih Akın, with the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres award in a ceremony held at the French Embassy. 

Acclaimed director Fatih Akın most recently won an award for best screenplay for The Edge of Heaven in the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. The following year, Akın served on the Jury for the Cannes Film Festival
