Şivan to return to Turkey 34 years later…

Şivan Perver, a famous Kurdish musician who has lived in exile for years, will be returning to play in his native homeland for the first time in 34 years.

Şivan Perver met up with pianist Fazıl Say as he prepares for a concert, which he calls ‘a meeting with the public’ which will be held in Diyarbakır. Composer and pianist Fazil Say was joined by Moldavian violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja as well as famous Kurdish musician Şivan Perver in Paris’ Champs-Elysee theater. The big surprise of the night was Şivan Perver’s announcement that after 34 years, he would be returning to Turkey.
