Hüsnü to teach in the US

For one week, clarinetist Hüsnü Şenlendirici will teach students at the United States’ Berklee School of Music about Turkish music.

After performing in the Istanbulive concert on February 6th in Central Park, New York, Hüsnü Şenlendirici and the New York Gypsy All-Stars are continuing on a US tour. Invited by the world’s most famous jazz school Berklee, Hüsnü Şenlendirici will be giving lessons at the University on Turkish music and will perform a Turkish music concert accompanied by the Berklee Jazz Orchestra. The concert will be produced by Christine Karam a musician and fan of both Hüsnü Şenlendirici and NY Gypsy All-Stars who is of Armenian heritage. 

After completing the US tour, Şenlendirici will be headed for India where he will take the stage to perform in a concert held in honor of two-time Grammy winner tabla master Zakir Hussein’s father. Expressing his joy at being the first Turk to take the stage in India, Şenlendirici stated; “I am proud to represent my country internationally and feel much more  free here.”
