All eyes in the fashion world are on Istanbul

Istanbul Fashion Week, intended to attract the textile world to Turkey, kicked off with a runway show with Turkey’s most famous models.

Held with intentions of establishing Istanbul as a fashion capital in the textile sector, Istanbul Fashion Week, commenced with a Gizia fashion show with well-known models including Tuğçe Kazaz, Tülin Şahin and Hande Subaşı. Tuğçe Kazaz, the face of the company, opened up the show by walking down the runway in a bathing suit constructed out of a grey wool material. Meanwhile, having given birth just three months ago, famous model Çağla Şikel displayed her post natal figure in a runway show for Kuzu Deri. In conjunction with Istanbul Fashion Week, an adjoining fair displayed designer and ready wear company collections. 

Hollywood star Meg Ryan was in attendance for the opening of the event, however, as soon as she cut the ribbon she left without even watching the show and returned to her hotel. In fact, the famous star proceeded to hastily depart Istanbul, cutting her previously scheduled program in half. According to sources, Meg Ryan departed Istanbul for Paris.
