We should have sent in a cute kid too

As Hadise returned to Turkey from Moscow, after representing the nation in the Eurovision Song Contest, she stated; “Norway won sympathetic votes. Next year, we should also send in a cute kid.”

The winner of the 54th Eurovision Song Contest, hosted in Moscow, was Norway’s representative, Alexander Rybak with a record breaking 387 votes. Turkey’s contender Hadise, who came in fourth with her song, “Dum tek tek”, returned to her homeland last night. As she left the Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport dancing, she expressed that she was very pleased with the results and that her goal had been to make it to the top five. "I like the number four. So I have returned happy.” Hadise also mentioned that they experienced some problems with stage management.

Hadise also expressed that she felt the voting system was wrong, and complained that nations tend to vote on country relations more so than on talent. Hadise stated; “I thought it would be different this year. However, as you can see it didn’t happen that way. I think this image of the Eurovision Contest is really negative. They need to change this immediately. If it continues this way then the audience is just going to turn their back in the end.”
Hadise, mentioning that cuteness should not be a musical criteria in discussing the Norwegian singer who won the contest, stated; “Ok, so he is a really cute boy, and really sympathetic. But do votes go to those who are sympathetic? If so, then next year let’s not even try; let’s just send a cute boy to compete.” Hadise, expressing that the Eurovision chapter in her life is over, went on to state that she was going to continue on with her career where she left off.

ARMENIAN SURPRISE

Meanwhile, an interesting detail regarding the voting is that as Turkey and Azerbaijan gave each other 12 points each, Turkey gave six points to Armenia. Turkey’s neighbors Greece received no points from Turkey. Armenia on the other hand signed on to a first by giving Turkey four points.
